Founding Product Manager for Seed-Stage E-commerce Data Platform

CHALLENGE

Following a successful seed round, an e-commerce data intelligence startup, focused on helping brands navigate growth through unified data and insights needed to hire their first Product Manager. With a lean team and a strong technical founder (CTO), the company sought a product leader who could turn raw data capabilities into intuitive, monetizable product experiences. The goal: accelerate product velocity, improve user acquisition and retention, and drive toward profitability and multimillion-dollar revenue.

APPROACH

We partnered with the founding team to define the ideal profile: a hands-on, strategic PM who could bridge technical depth with user empathy. This person would work side-by-side with the CTO, lead discovery and iteration loops, and help shape the roadmap across acquisition, retention, and feature development. We conducted a targeted national search, prioritizing operators with ecommerce SaaS experience and a track record of turning early-stage products into revenue engines. Within weeks, we presented a refined shortlist with candidates who had owned 0→1 and 1→n product journeys in high-growth environments.

OUTCOME

The client hired their Founding Product Manager: a sharp, customer-obsessed operator with experience in e-commerce enablement tools and product-led growth environments. The PM is now embedded with the CTO and core team, leading product direction across onboarding, feature adoption, and retention.
